At Malta International Airport, buses can be found just outside that will take you to your destination. Several buses will take you directly to the city you’re staying in, while some may require one transfer. There are also rideshares available, like Uber, if you are looking for a quicker ride.

If traveling from one Maltese city to another – like from Valletta to Mdina – one of the most affordable ways is by bus. You can pay with cash or simply use tap to pay with your card. Using the maps feature on your phone will help you determine which bus to take. If your travel plans include [visiting Gozo](https://visitgozo.com/getting-to-gozo/), you will leave from the Gozo Ferry terminal in Ċirkewwa or a highspeed ferry is available from Valletta.

**Best for:** Malta first timers who want to experience a little bit of everything. This capital city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and features stunning historical buildings as well as ample restaurants. It is also easy to get to other cities by bus from Valletta.



**Rabat**



**Best for:** History buffs who enjoy a quainter area. In this city lined with cobbled streets, you’ll find award-winning restaurants on one corner and ancient catacombs on the next. You’ll also be close to Mdina – the “Silent City” where scenes from a popular fantasy television series was filmed.



**St. Julian’s**



**Best for:** Those looking for more resort and nightlife vibes. While this city still has the same historical charm as others, you’re likely to find more visitors who like to relax at a nearby beach during the day and explore the area’s best bars at night.



**Gozo**



**Best for:** Travelers whose main priorities are swimming and sunbathing. Only accessible by ferry, Gozo is the ultimate relaxation destination
